CONTEXT

Acid Violence is contextually a social issue and a cultural issue.

Social Issue
This crime is mostly committed by men. The fact that a large portion of Bangladesh society is male dominated adds to the social aspect of the crime.Another aspect is the lack of access of education which comes from poverty.
Cultural Issue
Since this violence is increasing day by day, the idea is spreading among people and becoming an easy way of taking revenge.

CRITIQUE-2 (Research and Analysia)

WHAT IS ACID?
Acid is any chemical compound. It is a very dangerous substance, when ever it comes closer to any object it destroys totally.

HOW DOES IT AVAILABLE?
Acid is very easy to found. It is a common substance to get in the country like India ,Pakistan, Bangladesh and Cambodia.A cup of Acid costs only a few Cent and is therefore both a cheap and available weapons.

HOW DOES ACID USE
Acid poured form any car battery or purchased from auto repair shops.

WHAT IS ACID VIOLENCE?

Acid violence is a particularly vicious and damaging form of violence in Bangladesh where acid is thrown in people’s faces. The overwhelming majority of the victims are women, and many of them are below 18 years of age. The victims are attacked for many reasons. In some cases it is because a young girl or women has spurned the sexual advances of a male or either she or her parents have rejected a proposal of marriage. Recently, however, there have been acid attacks on children, older women and also men. These attacks are often the result of family and land dispute, dowry demands or a desire for revenge.

CONSEQUENCES OF ACID VIOLENCE
Nitric or sulphuric acid has a catastrophic effect on human flesh. It causes the skin tissue to melt, often exposing the bones below the flesh, sometimes even dissolving the bone. When acid attacks the eyes, it damages them permanently.

REACTION AFTER GETTING AFFACTED BY ACID
The scars left by acid are not just skin deep. In addition to the inevitable psychological trauma, some survivors also face social isolation and ostracism that further damage their self-esteem and seriously undermine their professional and personal futures. Women who have survived acid attacks have great difficulty in finding work and, if unmarried (as many victims tend to be), have very little chance of ever getting married. In a country like Bangladesh this has serious social and economic consequences.

The findings of the survey which are raw data collected by distributing questionnaires among the targeted population of Kuala Lumpur and Cyberjaya. Before proceeding to the actual process there was a distribution of 100 questionnaires. Many of the questionnaires were incomplete, some of them were missing and some of them were found to be filled out without fulfilling the choices given while someone put their own irrelevant choices. After cleaning and justifying only 90 questionnaires were found to be in order for a proper analysis and capable of suggestion making.

Assignment-Critical commentary

IDENTIFY SOCIAL/USER BEHAVIOUR

It is the study of devices with which a user can interact. The practice typically centers into the ambient social complexities of the physical world. It can also apply to other types of non-electronic products ,Human relationship and services, and even organizations. Interaction design defines the behavior (the "interaction") of an artifact or system in response to its users. The best place to find images, animations, even sound and video file clips in the public domain is by visiting Web sites that maintain graphics archives. Many have search engines or have the files subdivided into categories. Most simulations are designed as Flash animations.

IDENTIFY A EXAMPLE/CREATION/PROJECT/INNOVATION THAT IS CATERED FOR THIS BEHAVIOURS:

Using CD-ROM as a marketing and design medium allows for an interactive presentation of my topic that will capture the attention and imagination of the audience. Using cd-roms as simple as it gives viewers a deeper and more influential presentation that will make the content stand out above the rest. Interactive designers are typically informed through iterative cycles of user research. User research is used to identify the needs, motivations and behavior of end users. This design with an emphasis on user goals and experience, and evaluate designs in terms of social/user behavior and effective influence.
For example, I am focusing on “Acid Violence”.Many Non –Governmental -Organization (NGO) has been developed in the country .It has several branches through out the country. The main focus of all these NGOs’ are to take proper care of the victims and help them to survive in future with out any Fear.for more information plz log in to : http://www.acidsurvivors.org/

HOW IS THIS ISSUE ADDRESSED IN MY PROJECT?

For my project, ACID VIOLENCE is a drastic issue in Bangladesh. This issue is hampering in the culture and society in a rapid form. .Many awareness needs to be created. The problem is not only happening meaninglessly. It is occurring due to the Illiteracy, unconsciousness, rejection of the wedding proposals, Dowry, Revenge from the Enemies so on and so forth. It is happening for a long time and the sufferer is getting affected for the rest of her life. Especially, women are the main sufferers. This major problem is now spreading into the whole society. So Interactive CD ROM will be the best way from my point of view in order to create more MASS AWARENESS in our society.ACID VIOLENCE is serious crime. I alone can not solve this issue.Eventhough through Multimedia Interactive Cd Rom will be good enough to Create awareness and rise consciousness to the public. My interactive Cd rom will be Much more informative because it will consist with case studies focusing to the victims itself, their story telling and videos.

CD-ROM Advantages

When compared to instructor-led programs, the features and benefits of CD-ROM training include all those shared by other types of technology-based training:
• self-paced
• highly interactive
• increased retention rates
• reduced costs.

CD-ROM Limitations

One of the disadvantages of CD-ROM based training, when compared to instructor-led delivery, is the lack of peer-to-peer learning opportunities. After all, good instructors are really supposed to be facilitators, who bring out experience-based lessons and realizations from the students themselves
The biggest drawback of CD-ROM-based training when compared to Web-based training is the difficulty in updating or changing the content. Once a CD-ROM is created, the information on it can not be changed.
